Cemetery In The Woods No. 1 – Photo For July 19
It is very hot here in the Northeast, but decided to take a little ride this morning and visit this wonderful cemetery. The trees are nearly as old as the monuments, an interesting comparison.
Barn – Photo For July 18
Was driving along yesterday and saw this very interesting barn, the light was good, but just had my iPhone with me. Anyway, stopped to take a photo, unfortunately I chopped one end of the barn off when I zoomed in. I must have done something wrong, but did edit this photo. Intend to go back and photograph it again, apparently it is being fixed up, nice to see old barns come alive again.
School Bus – Photo For July 17
Feel I should make an editorial comment about our educational system, but the photo says it all!
Doors – Photo For July 16
What door to choose today? So many doors, so little time…
Back Alley, Windows And Me – Photo For July 15
I took a little walk in town early yesterday evening. Not down Main Street, yes, really is, Main Street, but down the alley in back of Main Street. There is a large old commercial garage in back of one of the buildings which caught my attention with its windows, views through it and reflections.
Old Feed Mill, Maryland, No. 2 – Photo For July 14
Could not resist one more detail photo of this “Old Feed Mill”.
Detail, Old Feed Mill, Maryland No. 1 – Photo For July 13
Detail can be very interesting and I like textures in black and white. This is a photo from my Maryland visit in early June near where I photographed the “Maryland Farm”. It is a grey day today, so may not get any good new photos to post and return to to these details tomorrow.
Another Road, Another Bridge – Photo For July 12
The same day in 1970 that I took the previous photo, I also took this one of a classic covered bridge over one of the tributaries of the Monocacy River. Last year in covering the same ground I rephotographed the same bridge. So two photos today…
Country Road Study, 1970 – Photo For July 11
I think I have been down this road before…
When I scanned some old negatives some years ago, I came across this series of photos of a bridge and vaguely remembered where I had taken them and know it was in the spring of 1970. I am pretty sure that this bridge and the bridge in my current “Country Road Study” are one in the same, although some modifications have been made in the last 43 years. On my next trip I will verify it since I have picture of builders plaque in the old negatives.
