Rosslyn Chapel and Castle – Photos For September 10

Rosslyn Chapel is one of the most unique structures I have ever seen. It as been going through extensive preservation work, which has been completed, and for the first time in well over a decade can be seen without scaffolding or what was for many years a large temporary roof. The photo is taken with a super wide angle lens and thus is distorted.

The Castle ruins and present house are also fascinating and are just a short walk from the Chapel. I particularly like the bridge leading into the ruin!

Both structures played a role in the movie, The Devinci Code, particularly the Chapel!

Riding The Marches – Photos For August 9

This is an old tradition that has just been revived in the last few years. Riding The Marches involves several hundred riders on gorgeous horses riding across country and into the center of Edinburgh. It is quite an entrance as they come up the Royal Mile behind a bagpipe band.

Waverley Station, Edinburgh, Scotland – Photos For September 7

It was great to explore and photograph Waverley Station. It is nearly impossible to capture the entire complex from ground level. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I can do some outside shots. This series is of the main terminal area showing tracks 14 – 18.

St. Andrews Is Not Just Golf No. 1 – Photo For August 4

Visited St. Andrews today, it was an easy train – bus trip from Edinburgh. If in St. Andrews, you must see the old course, but there is so much more…

This photo is of the castle ruins perched above the sea. They are fascinating and very photogenic. I used my ultra, wide angle lens to capture the castle, sea and swirling clouds.
